Last weekend was a busy one for me. I left around 1pm on Friday to drive up to Logan. Well truthfully I left the house at 1:00 to go to Target to pick up my sister's gift, and then was on the road by 2:00. The drive isn't even that bad -- just two hours -- but I hate it! I think it's because I just want to get there but not matter how hard I try, I really can't cut the drive down. The best I did was one hour and fourty-five minutes, but anyways that's besides the point.
I went up to visit Andrea because 1.) even though I just saw her over Christmas break it felt like months longer since I had seen her, and 2.) her birthday is in two weeks and I knew I wouldn't be able to be with her so I wanted to celebrate it early.
It's actually because of that last reason that I wanted to make it up to Logan quickly. I knew she got off work at 5:00, but I wanted to have her house decorated, her gift out, and her cake made all by the time she got home. So when I pulled into her cute little town home I sprinted from my car, threw everything on her apartment floor, and got to work!
Here's some pictures of how it looked when she came home:
I already had a reason to hang the Birthday Banner I made!
Her present and cake (well pie) waiting for her on her table
Close up of the delicious pie (I promise it tastes so much better than it looks)
It was fun for me to decorate everything for her and she was really surprised! Confused at first, since her birthday isn't for another few weeks, but then really happy about it! Ha. After she got home and she opened up her present (I got her these cute boots:)
we started on dinner. We made my favorite home-made Macaroni & Cheese dish. I'm sure people are sick of it by now because I'm always making it for people or making it when we have people over, so I really should try to find something else I like just as much.
But it's delicious and turned out great! Then for dessert I sang to her and we had her birthday pie (also way too good).
That night we just stayed in and watched Titanic. But the next day we woke up early and went to the gym for a few hours, went out to lunch, went to Hobby Lobby, and then back home to watch Harry Potter. By that time it was getting late and I had to go so I could make it out of the canyon while there was still some daylight.
But seeing Andrea was so much fun! And I'm incredibly jealous of her spacious (and very cute) town-house. I can't wait until Grant and I can move into a place where we can actually fit all our furniture, not to mention not have to use our cars as storage! Ha it's hilarious. I can never have anyone ride with me because my trunk and back seat is full of suitcases, Christmas decorations, Halloween decorations, towels, etc.
Switching gears, Sunday was the Superbowl! And although I didn't even know who was playing in the game until the morning of, I still had a great time at the party :)
For the 8 of us (Finn makes 9) we went through three pizzas, an entire batch of chocolate balls and chocolate-covered pretzels, three kinds of chips with three kinds of dips, spinach-artichoke dip with french bread, a case of strawberries (at least we got
some fruit in), cheese and crackers, a huge batch of muddy buddys, blondie-brownies, an entire batch of swedish meatballs,
and 8
1/2 liters of soda!
It was quite delicious :)
Oh and Finn joining our party was by far the best part!
Pre-gaming:
It was so much fun! I'll admit, I didn't even find out the score of the game until the next morning over breakfast with Grant, but that was never really my intention. I just love to have an excuse to have everyone over. We seriously have the best friends and I don't know what we're going to do without them when we all leave! Just motivates me even more to spend as much time as possible with them now, and start saving up for vacations with them later!
