Work is Keeping Us Busy

The next part of our lives that I need to update about is work. Our jobs are certainly keeping us busy. Grant's been studying for his huge brokerage exam for the last couple of months and after hours and hours of studying....he passed!! I'm so so proud of him and also very very happy. He's been putting in so much time and effort studying and taking practice exams, and now he can just relax!

We feel very lucky and grateful to both have jobs in our desired industries. It's hard in this economy to get a job at all, let alone a job in the industry you want to be in--so we're both extremely grateful to be working where we are. Grant loves the people he works with, which I'm so thankful for! We've made some great friends because of his job, and it always makes work easier when you're there with people you like.

And I absolutely love my job! I really don't know how I got so lucky, but it has been awesome. Being in a management position has taught me so much about working with people, organizing, scheduling, managing my time, and being in control of what goes on. Even though it's tough, busier than I'd ever imagined, and sometimes stressful, I really enjoy what I do. I also love the people I'm working with and the general atmosphere of the office. I've learned a lot of new editing skills; new techniques for writing blogs, websites, press releases, and news letters; and new tricks when it comes to marketing and SEO. One of the best parts of my job is that even though I'm working in such a niche industry, the skills that I'm learning can be applied to any job and are so valuable for any company.

It's great to both be working and making money, but it's even better that we both enjoy our jobs. We definitely feel blessed.
