Graduation was really exciting, and even though I was dreading having to sit through so many long hours on the hard benches in the Marriot Center, I really ended up enjoying it. Being there with all the other graduates was so exciting and the energy was really contagious.
After commencement on Thursday, we hung around and took pictures with our parents. After we met up with the rest of our siblings (the ones who were able to come out) for dinner at Los Hermanos. It ended up being the perfect place because, since we had such a large party, they gave us our own room, so it felt like a private dinner with both our families. (Plus, we love the food.)
On Friday we had convocation. Grant sat with the College of Humanities for commencement on Thursday, so we walked with the Marriot School of Management on Friday at convocation. It was a bit weird to be in a completely different major, and my white tassel stuck out like a sore thumb among the sea of gold tassels, but other than that it was really exciting for me. And it was really great that we got to walk together!
After convocation, we hung around for a bit and took pictures with our families and then I had to take off to go to Salt Lake for a bit. While I was doing that, Grant went out to lunch with his parents and my parents took of to go get the food ready for our party!
We decided to have our Grad Party outside at Bicentennial Park in south Provo, but after a few minutes of everyone standing around and shivering, we decided it was just too chilly and we moved the party inside to my Granny's clubhouse (which we had reserved as a backup), and it turned out great. We all had a delicious meal, and then it was just so fun to sit around and chat with everyone. And I really appreciated how many people went out of their way to come to our party--it was so good seeing everyone!
The next day, Saturday, was Grant and I's one-year anniversary! We started the day off by going to the temple to do sealings, which we've decided to make a tradition since it was really special and a really great way to start off the day. After that, the day got crazy! We had a bunch of family over to help us pack up our house and move up to South Jordan, and I don't know what we would have done without their help! We have SO much stuff! We finally moved everything in around 5:00 and by that time people were exhausted, so we let everyone go and we unpacked our bedroom. A little bit later we made dinner and went down to my Aunt Debbie's and Uncle Bruce's house to hang out with my family for a little bit longer.
The next day was Sunday--Easter Sunday! We first went to Daniel and Natalie's ward for baby Finn's baby blessing, and then over to their house afterward for the party. It was great to be their for Finn's blessing! Grant and I are both so sad that they're moving and we won't be able to see them, or see Finn grow up, for a very long time :( but it was really good to see them and be with them for the blessing.
Then we made our way over to my Granny's for Easter Sunday with my family, and after a couple of hours went up to Bluffdale to be with Grant's family for Easter Sunday. After running around all day, we ended the night by boarding a flight to FLORIDA!! (But that's a separate post, coming soon!)
Here are some pictures that our photographer, Angie Andrews from Sweet Memory Garden Photography, took of Grant and I. We did another shoot of anniversary shots and graduation shots so we'd have some with us in our caps and gowns, and then also have some new photos to use for our Christmas cards next year. Angie is amazing and we absolutely love all the photos she took of us. I'll post the anniversary shots later, and here's some of our favorite graduation shots:
